In addition to Mozart’s famous “Haffner” Symphony, both of his symphonies concertantes as well as excerpts from the fragmentary opera Lo sposo deluso (The Deluded Bridgeroom) make up the programme of the Hungarian State Opera Orchestra’s concert on 1 February 2026. The concert features vocal soloists Gabriella Balga, Péter Balczó, Botond Pál, and Bence Pataki, orchestral soloists Alexandre Anatolii Dimcevski, Haruka Nagao, Nóra Salvi, Balázs Rumy, Bálint Fábry, and Péter Lakatos, under the baton of principal guest conductor Péter Halász.
Following appearances at the leading opera houses of London, Paris, Vienna, Berlin, and Milan, the Hungarian State Opera will host Anna Netrebko, who will sing the female lead in Verdi’s Macbeth on 6 and 8 June 2026. One of the world’s foremost sopranos will appear in Hungary for the first time in a fully staged production. Other principal roles will be sung by Mihály Kálmándy, Szabolcs Brickner, and Sándor Köpeczi, with the ensembles of the OPERA conducted by principal conductor Martin Rajna. Tickets for the performances go on sale at 10:00 a.m. on 4 February 2026, with advance sales beginning at 10:00 a.m. on 3 February.
Within the particularly intimate and revealing setting of piano-accompanied aria and song recitals, Freddie de Tommaso will present Neapolitan songs, while Asmik Grigorian will perform works by Tchaikovsky and Rachmaninoff in the Hungarian State Opera’s Stars' Recitals with Piano series. Of the two opera stars, the British-Italian tenor will be accompanied by Audrey Saint-Gil at his concert on 25 January 2026, while the Lithuanian soprano’s partner for her performance on 13 February will be the pianist Lukas Geniušas.
