The one-act ballet Etudes by Harald Lander performed by the Hungarian National Ballet as part of their Modern+1 performance opened to enormous success on 22 March. On 5 & 6 April, the ballet company of the Opera appears on stage with three other acclaimed companies, the Ballet Company of Győr, the Ballet Pécs, and the Szeged Contemporary Dance Company. On 7 April, the audience can enjoy productions of independent companies.
The dance performances to be premièred on the stage of the Erkel Theatre are a feast not only to audiences keen on ballet but those only beginning to get acquainted with it. Every piece presents an intertwining of movement and music while giving audiences a real treat for the eyes and the soul. Admirers of a more classic style as well as fans of a more modern language of dance will find the performance enjoyable.
At the summarizing press conference of the Silver Rose Ball, the first charity ball hosted by the Opera general director Szilveszter Ókovács announced: the Faust season serves as a background for the 2015 Faust Ball, a night of scientists and artists is to be organised on 14 February. Special guest stars of the event are Angela Gheorghiu, a star of the international world of opera, and Carlos Acosta, principal guest artist of The Royal Ballet.
