Péter Bárány | Opera Singer
He gained experience in performing old music in Cantus Corvinus Ensemble led by Géza Klembala. He graduated from Weiner Leó Secondary School of Music, Budapest in 1996 as a student of Éva Lax. His repertoire mainly includes baroque oratorios and operas, but he has also been successful in modern music, like P. M. Davies' opera Resurrection and Gergely Vajda's The Giant Baby. He debuted on stage with the Budapest Chamber Opera in the title role of Händel's Orlando in 2001. In the same year he won third prize at the 6th Luis Mariano Singing Competition in Irún, Spain. He has sung on several recordings, and is a permanent contributor to György Vashegyi's CD-series of French and German baroque church music. Péter Bárány is to make his debut at the Opera House in Xerxes.
