Ferenc Cserhalmi | Opera Singer
He was born in Budapest in 1962, and started to learn to play the piano at the age of five. He graduated from a Russian-English dual language secondary school in 1980. He studied singing at Bartók Béla Secondary School of Music from 1982 to 1985, and then at Liszt Ferenc Academy of Music until 1989. He continued his studies in Germany with Kurt Moll in 2000, and sang some minor roles, oratorios and masses in Cologne and Hamburg. He was a member of the studio of the Hungarian State Opera House between 2001 and 2003, and he has been a permanent guest singer of the opera since then. Major roles: Biberach (Bánk bán), Zuniga (Carmen), Bartolo (Le nozze di Figaro), Commendatore (Don Giovanni), Angelotti (Tosca), Sparafucile (Rigoletto) Ramfis (Aida), Philip II. (Don Carlo), Herold (Lohengrin), Schwarz (Die Meistersinger von Nürnberg), Titurel (Parsifal).
