Balázs Kovalik | Stage Director
He studied directing at August Everding Bayerische Theaterakademie - Hochschule für Musik, München from 1993, and graduated as a director in 1997. In the same year he started to teach at the Opera Department of Liszt Ferenc Academy of Music, Budapest. He has been Artistic Director of the Opera House since 2007. Major works: Puccini: Turandot (National Theatre, Szeged, 1995, Erkel Theatre, 1997, Bergen, 2000), Ligeti: Le grande Macabre (Opera House, 1998), Britten: Peter Grimes (Opera House, 1999), Britten: The Turn of the Screw (Erkel Theatre, 2002), Mozart-Marathon (Millenary Theatre, 2006), Bartók: Bluebeard's Castle (Munich, Prinzregententheater, 1997, Cairo Opera House, 2000, Opera House, 2001, International Opera Festival, Miskolc 2007), R.
