István Mozsár | Acting Managing Director, Technical Director
He was born in Budapest in 1963, and studied in the same city: first he graduated from the Faculty of Transportation Engineering at the Budapest Technical University, and later attended Webster/Balogh marketing seminars in Vienna. He continued business studies at the senior management courses of WAMAK, which opened new perspectives to the young expert, who had an ever deeper interest in the questions of corporate development, brand management and organisation management.
As early as the 1990s, István Mozsár had a major role in building distinguished European brands in Hungary. The 2000s saw the beginning of a new phase of his career when he could make good use of the experience he had gained in multicultural business culture not only as an employee but a partner, owner and investor.
As the man behind the idea to set up a company exclusively for this project, he was responsible for launching a restaurant chain and working out a franchise model adapted to the Hungarian environment. The restaurant chain, although based in Germany, offers the concept of modern Italian fast food.
When he was offered the position at the Hungarian State Opera Budapest, he was working as an external advisor to an IT company which develops and distributes some of the most important software of Hungarian enterprises.
The new mandatory managing director of the Hungarian State Opera describes himself as an opera lover, but claims that his most important professional task is to establish and operate the backgrounds to the national opera, which he markedly distinguishes from the artistic management that he recognises as an autonomous area.
István Mozsár is married with three grown up children.
