“The fundamental themes of this opera are mate choice, love and the complexity of emotional relations; these are the most beautiful and most dangerous phenomena in the world, the greatest and most unsolvable problems of mankind. In my present direction I am more inclined towards the extreme. I want to show fates and represent the life of this musical piece. As a consequence, sensuality plays a more important role in the enterieur of the set, and the bloody comedy character of the opera is underlined more strongly so that we can tell when one should cry and when one should laugh. I would like to show that few could condemn his heroes with so much sympathy and, at the same  time, love them with so much doubt as Mozart did.” (Miklós Szinetár, director)
