Erzsébet Pelle | Opera Singer
She studied in Bartók Béla Secondary School of Music with Edit Fábry. She started her career in the State Folk Ensemble, and later was a soloist in the opera section of the Csokonai Theatre, Debrecen from 1978 to 1989. She has been a soloist, one of the principal dramatic sopranos, in the Hungarian State Opera House since 1989. In recent years she has sung roles of heroines like Erzsébet Szilágyi (Erkel: Hunyadi László), Tosca, Turandot, Abigaille (Verdi: Nabucco), Leonora (Verdi: Il trovatore), Aida. She has appeared as a guest singer in many cities in France and Spain, and has sung in Germany, Switzerland and the Netherlands. Recently the audience has been able to see her in minor but impeccably performed character roles.
