After commencing her music studies as a member of the Hungarian Radio Children's Choir, Annamária Bucsi continued her training under teacher Katalin Schultz in the voice and music department of Városmajor High School, where she was a soloist in the Angelica Girls' Choir. At the Ferenc Liszt Academy of Music, she first earned a degree in voice pedagogy at the Budapest Pedagogical Institute, followed by another in opera performance from the academy's opera department, after studying under Dénes Gulyás and Balázs Kovalik. She has since worked at the National Theatre, the Budapest Operetta Theatre, the Hungarian theatre, the Örkény Theatre and several other theatres around Hungary. She is a frequent guest at the Szeged Open-Air Festival, most recently as Marie Louise, wife of Gérard Depardieu's Napoleon, in Háry János.
Annamária Bucsi
