Karmester - Conductor
1977-ben végzett a Liszt Ferenc Zeneművészeti Akadémián zeneszerzés-, karmester- és zongora szakon. 1977-től a Magyar Állami Operaház tagja. Sir Georg Solti ösztöndíjasaként Bécsben tanult. 1979 óta dirigálja többek között a János vitéz, a Porgy és Bess, A trubadúr ,a Carmen, A varázsfuvola, a Pillangókisasszony, a Traviata, A rózsalovag, a Trisztán és Izolda, az Otello, a Bohémélet, az Aida, a Tosca, a Bánk bán, a Salome és A vajda tornya című operákat. A János vitéz 1987-es átdolgozása és újrahangszerelése is az ő nevéhez fűződik. Művészi munkásságát Komor Vilmos-emlékplakettel ismerték el. 1987-től a brémai operaház első karmestere, 1995-től a trieri operaház főzeneigazgatója volt. Európa számos országában vezényelt. Szerzeményei többek között: Fanfár és korál, Funerailles, Homage a Beethoven, Treveris-fantázia.
He graduated from the Departments of Composition, Conducting and Piano at the Franz Liszt Academy of Music in 1977. Since then he's been the member of the Hungarian State Opera. He participated in the Sir Georg Solti Scholarship Program in Vienna. As a dirigent, his repertoire includes masterpiece operas like János vitéz (John the Valiant, Pongrác Kacsoh), Porgy and Bess, Il trovatore, Carmen, Die Zauberflöte, Madama Butterfly, La Traviata, Der Rosenkavalier, Tristan und Isolde, Otello, La Bohéme, Aida, Tosca, Bánk bán (Ferenc Erkel), Salome és A vajda tornya (The Tower of the Voivod, Ernő Dohnányi). He is also renowed for the transcription of John the Valiant. In merit of his artistic achievements he was awarded the Vilmos Komor Plaquette. Since 1987 he has been Principal Conductor of the Bremen State Opera, since 1995 he has been also the General Music Director of the Trier Opera. He has conducted in major opera houses throughout Europe. His compositions among others: Fanfár és korál (Fanfare and Coral), Funerailles, Homage a Beethoven, Treveris-fantázia (Treveris-fantasy).
