Il barbiere di Siviglia – Il conte d'Almaviva

He was born in La Plata, Argentina in 1978. He began his studies at the conservatoire of his native city, and continued at Conservatorio Arturo Soria in Madrid in 2000. His career began in 2004, when he won the Caruso Prize at the “Le voci nuove della lirica” competition in Milan. He first appeared on stage in the role of Don Luigino in Rossini’s Il viaggio a Reims, and later sang Rinuccio (Gianni Schicchi) in Monte Carlo and Lucca. He sang the role of the Simpleton (Boris Godunov) under the baton of Semyon Bychkov at the Maggio Musicale Fiorentino in 2005. Many more debuts followed: at the Teatro dell’Opera in Rome (Count Almaviva, Don Ottavio), at the Teatro La Fenice in Venice (Tamino) and at the Teatro degli Arcimboldi in Milan (Count Almaviva in Paisiello’s Il barbiere di Siviglia). With the sponsorship of Luigi Alva, he appeared as a guest artist in Lima singing Don Ottavio. In December 2006, he sang the role of Ernesto at a Ravenna production of Don Pasquale conducted by Riccardo Muti, and debuted under Muti’s baton at the Salzburg Easter Festival in 2007 (title role of Cimarosa’s Il ritorno di Don Calandrino). He sang Belfiore in Il viaggio a Reims at La Scala Milan, and Eliézer in Rossini’s Moïse et Pharaon conducted by Riccardo Muti in Salzburg.
