She was born in a family of musicians in Bucharest, and first appeared on the concert stage playing the piano as a child. After graduating from the Bucharest Music Academy in Georgeta Stoleriu’s class, she participated in Lore Fischer’s lied and oratorio master classes in Weimar. From 1992 she studied with Carol Blaickner-Mayo in Vienna. She has won several national and international awards including prizes of international singing competitions in Munich (1990) and Washington (1991). She was a soloist with opera houses in Constanţa (Romania, 1989–1991), Basel (1991/1992) and the Vienna Staatsoper (1992–1998), and in the past decade she has been working as a freelance artist. Main roles: Carmen, Nicklausse (Offenbach: Les contes d’Hoffmann), Cinderella, Idamante (Mozart: Idomeneo), Orlofsky (J. Strauss: Die Fledermaus), Composer (R. Strauss: Ariadne auf Naxos).
