MASSIMO PISAPIA
Tosca - Cavaradossi
He was born in Turin, and studied with Franco Corelli. He made his debut in the role of Pinkerton in Madama Butterfly at the Teatro Fraschini in Pavia. Since then he has sung at the world’s leading opera houses including La Scala Milan, the Zurich Opera, the Bayerische Staatsoper in Munich, the Hamburg Staatsoper, the Leipzig Opera, the Teatro Colón in Buenos Aires, the Maggio Musicale in Florence the Carlo Felice Theatre in Genova, the Verona Arena, and the Puccini Festival in Torre del Lago, singing the tenor main roles of Madama Butterfly, Rigoletto, Les contes d’Hoffmann, Macbeth, Simon Boccanegra, La Boheme, Un ballo in maschera, I Lombardi alla prima crociata, Roberto Devereux, L’elisir d’amore, Gianni Schicchi, La traviata and Lucia di Lammermoor, and many more operas. He has worked with such conductors as Antonello Allemandi, Bruno Bartoletti, Riccardo Chailly, Daniel Oren and Stefano Ranzani. He made his debut at the Vienna Staatsoper in Un ballo in maschera in November 2007, and sang Simon Boccanegra in Hamburg, Roberto Devereux and Un ballo in maschera at the Bayerische Staatsoper and Gianni Schicchi in Frankfurt in the 2007/2008 season.
