Symphonic concerts – OO

For much of the 2018/19 season – like last season – we will have to do without the Opera House while it is being renovated. This, however, gives us the opportunity to hit the road ourselves and, in addition to embarking on tours around Europe and overseas, to visit Hungarian venues outside of Budapest.
It is not only concert-version opera performances, ballet shows and gala programmes that our “Opera from the Opera” series is bringing to various points around the country: we're also preparing symphonic concerts, so that a wider audience can get to know Hungary's oldest continually operating musical ensemble, the Hungarian State Opera Orchestra.
We'll be visiting a total of ten cities between September and December 2018, with six outstanding conductors helping us develop six different concert programmes, each consisting of three parts: the overture from one of Rossini's operas, a concerto featuring an instrumental soloist, and a symphony.
