Born in 1982, Lóránt Barta studied classical voice at the Aurel Popp High School of Art in Szatmárnémeti (Satu Mare) from 1997 until 2001, and then spent the period between 2002 and 2008 earning his bachelor's and master's degrees from the Gheorghe Dima Academy of Music in Kolozsvár (Cluj-Napoca). He has also taken part in master classes held by Ionel Pantea and Vlad Iftinca. A member of the Transylvania State Philharmonic Choir in Kolozsvár since 2004, he also sings with both the Kolozvár Hungarian Opera and the city's Romanian National Opera.
His opera roles thus far include Don Ottavio (Don Giovanni), László V (Hunyadi László), Nemorino (L'elisir d'amore), Ferrando (Così fan tutte), Remendado (Carmen), Don Curzio (Le nozze di Figaro). In addition, he has sung as a soloist in numerous festivals both in Romania and elsewhere.
