Gabi Gál studied solo voice under Edit Széchy at the Ferenc Liszt Academy of Music's Szeged Conservatory from 1992 until 1996, when she was admitted to the academy's solo voice course in Budapest. Her first teacher was Márta Ónody, followed by Júlia Pászthy. In 2004, she completed the opera course after studying under Balázs Kovalik. She has participated in master classes held by Walter Moore, László Polgár, Anna Reynolds, Nicholas Clapton, Júlia Hamari, Renata Scotto and Éva Marton. A regular fixture on the stage since 1997, she was the subject of a portrait programme on Hungarian Radio titled Song and Joy. She regularly collaborates on presenting works by young composers, as well as at the Wagner in Budapest Opera Festival. She made her debut at the Hungarian State Opera House in February 2009, as Gretel in a children's version of Humperdinck's fairy-tale opera.
