István Stefánszky first studied drama in the upper-level acting programme at the Nemes Nagy Ágnes High School of the Arts, and is currently enrolled in the acting programme headed by Attila Vidnyánszky at the University of Kaposvár's Rippl-Rónai Faculty of the Arts. Starting in his second year there, he has been a regular participant in productions at the National Theatre, having appeared there in John the Valiant, Black Sky, White Cloud and Psyche (all directed by Attila Vidnánszky), as well as in Operetta (directed by Andrzej Bubień). In the 2015/16 season, he played the role of Kurrah in the Csokonai National Theatre of Debrecen's production of Csongor and Tünde (directed by Attila Fige). He is taking the stage of the Opera House in its production of Kádár's Last Speech.
