Carlo Ventre was born in Montevideo (Uruguay), he began studying at the Escuela de Arte Lirico in his city. He won the “Gino Bechi” prize at the Francisco Viñas Competition in Barcelona and the Pavarotti Voice Competition in Philadelphia. He debuted very young as Duke of Mantua in Rigoletto at the Teatro alla Scala, under the baton of Riccardo Muti.

So he begins an international career that has led him to the major Opera House in the world: Wiener Staatsoper, ROH Covent Garden in London, Opéra National de Paris, Teatro alla Scala, Liceu de Barcelona, Maggio Musicale Fiorentino, Deutsche Oper and Berlin Staatsoper, Dresden Semperoper, Zurich Opernhaus, Buenos Aires Colón Theater, Tokyo New National Theater, Dallas Opera, San Francisco Opera, Verona Arena, Rome Opera House, etc.

During the recent seasons he sang in some of the main roles as Pollione in Norma (Macerata), Andrea Chénier (Barcelona), Cavaradossi in Tosca (Paris, San Francisco, Frankfurt, Hamburg and Arena di Verona), Luigi in Il Tabarro (Frankfurt and Hamburg), Gabriele Adorno in Simon Boccanegra (Berlin and Frankfurt), Radames in Aida (London, Berlin, Verona, Leipzig, Munich, Orange, Verona, Barcelona and San Francisco), Don José in Carmen (Lausanne ), Riccardo in Un ballo in maschera (Frankfurt), Turiddu in Cavalleria rusticana (Chicago), Pinkerton in Madama Butterfly (San Diego), Don Carlos (Frankfurt), Calaf in Turandot (San Diego), Otello (Frankfurt, Hamburg, Tokyo ), Des Grieux in Manon Lescaut (Hamburg), Maurizio in Adriana Lecouvreur from Cilea (Barcelona). He has interpreted Otello in Hamburg, at the New National Theater in Tokyo, and at the Deutsche Oper am Rhein, Turandot at the Petruzzelli in Bari, Tosca, Turandot and Aida at the Verona Arena, Manon Lescaut at the Teatro Regio Turin, Madama Butterfly at the Festival d'Opéra Avenches, I Pagliacci at the Monnaie de Bruxelles.
