Charity day to support the István Regőczi Foundation for Coronavirus Orphans
Although every coloratura soprano scales absolute peaks of sound, one of the best of them, if not the very best of all, is the French artist who has accepted the Hungarian State Opera’s invitation to sing here for the first time. Patricia Petibon is coming to the Eiffel Art Studios’ enormous park at the peak of her career, having become the person she set out to be. The American bel canto specialist Lawrence Brownlee will bring tenor heights that can solve any problem and whose knowledge of style and appealing nature never fail to win over the audience.
This meeting of the two of them, one of them an international star and the other well on his way to becoming one, will be a unique event for Hungarian opera fans. As at Jonas Kaufmann’s 2020 gala concert, we’ll also get to enjoy our own Hungarian singers in the first half: the programme for the two gala nights from last year (Inaugurating the Eiffel Art Studios Park and the Corona Gala) and the cast list for this year’s gala constitute a list of our principal artists.
Addressing the audience will be Anita Herczegh, wife of the President of Hungary, Chairman of the Board of Trustees of the Foundation.
