Ballet in one act
Stand-up comedy meets dance: one part of the programme features popular comedian András Péter Kovács aka KAP to make the audience roar with laughter. He also contributes to the second part of the show, when his hit song Staying Home written during the lockdown is presented with a choreography by Adrienn Vetési, the modern dance teacher of the Hungarian National Ballet Institute. To finish off the evening, Karina Sarkissova, former first soloist of the Hungarian National Balett creates a dance piece that is inspired by the world of gospel: the intimate and festive beginning leads to large-scale celebrations, sunshine, and dynamic tableaus of thanksgiving. Thanks to the cooperation of Animal Cannibals, another definitive genre of American music culture, rap, will also add colour to the atmosphere of the performance.

Travelling in the Sitting Room
The comedian spent two months at home with his family and got to discover a new world, previously unknown to him. Until then, the children spent their mornings at kindergarten and at school, whereas the afternoons were spent in the countryside. Now, however, five people had to perform all the tasks for each other for which the whole wide world was available earlier. How can you be a teacher, a nurse, a cook, a gardener, a trainer, a scoutmaster, a manager and an artist at the same time? What have you taught your children? What have you learnt from them in return? Do you really know those you claim to know the best? These are the questions we all had to face in the spring – and now you get to hear András’s answers.
The descendants of African slaves carried off to North American live their faith through the spiritual world of gospel, which from intimate beginnings often flows into celebration and sunny and dynamic thanksgiving. This is the world that will appear in a dance programme. The choreography is being created by Karina Sarkissova, one of the Hungarian National Ballet’s female principals. With the help of Animal Cannibals, another key genre of American music will also add flavour to the show: rap.
