Anniversary gala concert

Eszter Sümegi has been a fundamental member of the
Opera in the lyric-spinto soprano voice range since her
debut in 1993. She completed the foreign tours necessary
for a well-established career, winning first prize at
the Pavarotti Competition in Philadelphia, and singing
in Salzburg, Paris, Frankfurt and the Vienna Staatsoper.
Yet she has always remained an artist of the Hungarian
State Opera, working mainly with us. In the meantime,
she conquered Richard Strauss’s roles after those of
Verdi and Puccini, and her voice still has a fresh and
strong power. After sevaral awards, she was granted
the Kossuth Pize in 2018, giving us one more reason to
celebrate the 25-year jubilee of her career.
