The Hungarian National Ballet, the 136-year-old official ballet company of the Hungarian State Opera, announces an online audition upon invitation for soloists and corps de ballet with contracts starting from 15 July 2020 or 1 October for soloists, and 15 July 2020 for corps de ballet (depending on the applicants’ work visa requirements). Applications by classically trained, professional male and female ballet dancers are welcome. Outstanding technique and qualities are a must.
Beginning with 1 July, guided tours are available again at the Opera House. English language tours take place daily at 2:00, 3:00 and 4:00 p.m. Tours in Hungarian are offered at 4:00 p.m. on Thursdays and 2:00 p.m. on Sundays.

Gábor Szűcs graduated from the University of Theatre and Film Arts after studying in the acting department there under Imre Kerényi. He became a member of the Madách Theatre, and has also performed at the Örkény Theatre, the Katona József Theatre, the Castle Theatre and the Jászai Mari Theatre in Tatabánya. Between 1992 and 2001, he was responsible for compiling the programme in the theatre tent at the Sziget Festival. In recent decades he has worked as a director. He became a founding member for the Mozaik Artists Alliance in 2003, and in 2008, he and Csaba Vasvári made a successful joint bid for the management of the Vörösmarty Theatre, remaining there until 2011. Since then, he has worked at the National Theatre of Győr and at the Hungarian State Opera. In 2016, he joined the executive committee of the Pécs National Theatre Festival.
