With the renovation of the Simándy Wing, in addition to offices, rehearsal rooms, and mechanical areas, the OPERA has gained an extra space: a rooftop terrace has been created atop the more than 30-meter-tall structure. Beyond providing fresh air for the employees and performers working in the office building, the terrace is also an ideal venue for receptions, intimate events, and press conferences. Visitors can take in a close-up view of the Hajós Street façade of the Ybl Palace across the street, as well as the mansard roof of the Opera House, adorned with ornately crafted tin ventilation openings. This elevation also offers the perfect vantage point for launching the New Year’s Eve fireworks or simply gazing out toward the hill range of Buda.
