Born in Treviso into a family with many members who chose a career on the stage, Anna Manfio took a very early interest in the theatre.
In 2008, she graduated from the faculty of the arts of the Università IUAV di Venezia with a degree in theatre studies, and in 2009 she won a three-month research scholarship from New York University's Steinhardt School of Culture, Education, and Human Development in relation to a musical theatre project. Previously to and in parallel with all this, between 2006 and 2013, she also studied in the opera department at Padua's Conservatorio Cesare Pollini under the guidance of Annunziata Lia Lantieri. Later on, from 2013 to 2015, she studied under Elisabetta Tandua in the opera department of the Conservatorio Benedetto Marcello in Venice, where she earned a degree in classical voice in 2015. The year after graduating, she took part in a professional internship at Oper Leipzig, as both an assistant director and chorus assistant.
Manfio has reached the finals of numerous competitions, including the Rinaldo Pelizzoni Singing Competition in Parma, the Toti dal Monte Singing Competition in Treviso and the Felice Lattuada Singing Competition in Milan. She made her debut in 2017 as Cio-Cio san, with Dario Bisso Sabàdin conducting the Venetian conservatory's orchestra. She sang the role of Giorgetta in Il tabarro for the first time in 2018, in Milan, also with the conservatory orchestra, this time under the baton of Marzio Fullin. She also made her début as Tosca in this same year, again with Sabàdin as conductor.
She is involved with numerous musical theatre productions as both as an actress and a singer, including The Phantom of the Opera, a piece entitled Peter and the Vegetarian Wolf, based on the original work by Prokofiev, and the production The Four Seasons conducted by Lavinia Tassinari, which Gruppo Alcuni created for the Teatri e Umanesimo Latino in Treviso.
In addition, she receives numerous commissions as a librettist and assistant director.
