Italian tenor Giordano Lucà was 12 years old when he started singing at Rome's Church of Santa Maria Madre del Redentore. In 2005, he took part in master classes with Katia Ricciarelli, Enzo Dara and Monserrat Caballè. He completed his studies at Milan's Conservatorio di musica “Giuseppe Verdi”.
In 2007, after triumphs at several competitions, he won the special prize at the Merano Singing Competition and the grand prize at the Mario Lanza Singing Competition in Filignano. Then, after earning the BBC Cardiff Singer of the World audience prize in 2009, he went on to take second place at the International Operalia Singing Competition associated with Plácido Domingo and held at Milan's La Scala.
In that same season, he sang the role of the Prince in Rigoletto in Parma, Tallinn, Padua, Rovigo, Savona, Bergamo and Ravenna, and the role of Alfredo in La traviata in Tallinn and Erl, in addition to appearing in both Otello and Macbeth in Ravenna, as well as in La bohème in Valencia, Genoa, Madrid and San Sebastian.
His repertoire also includes the roles of Tebaldo in I Capuleti e i Montecchi, Edgardo in Lucia di Lammermoor, Rodolfo in La bohème, as well the tenor part in Rossini's Stabat Mater.
