Born in Sweden, soprano Malin Christensson studied at the Royal College of Music. Operatic highlights include Susanna (Le nozze di Figaro) in Los Angeles, in Lisbon, at the Aix-en-Provence Festival and in Santiago di Chile; Barbarina at the Salzburg Festival; Zerlina (Don Giovanni) at the Houston Grand Opera and at the Helsinki Festival; Sophie (Werther) in Baden-Baden; Marzelline (Fidelio) at the Beethoven Festival in Warsaw; Drusilla (L’incoronazione di Poppea) at the Drottningholms Slottsteater; Miss Wordsworth (Albert Herring) at the Glyndebourne Festival; Flower Maiden (Parsifal) at Covent Garden and Papagena (Die Zauberflöte) in Montpellier, at the Théâtre du Châtelet and at the Vienna Festival. Recent highlights on the concert platform have included Bach’s Matthäus-Passion with the Philadelphia Orchestra and Nézet-Séguin, the Weihnachts-Oratorium with the Leipzig Gewandhausorchester and Pinnock; Beethoven’s Symphony no. 9 with the Swedish Radio Orchestra and Blomstedt, Carmina Burana with the LSO and Harding, Mozart’s Mass in C Minor with the CBSO and Nelsons, Adèle Die Fledermaus with the Philharmonia Orchestra and John Wilson and Mahler’s Symphony no. 4 with the Nürnberger Symphoniker and Shelley. She has also appeared at the BBC Proms and at the Lucerne and Daytona Festivals and other recent engagements have included the Gävle Symfoni Orkester with Søndergård; the Aarhus Symphony Orchestra with Nethsingha; the Helsingborg Symphony Orchestra with Manze; the Orchestra of the Age of Enlightenment with Jacobs, Labadie and Leonhardt; the BBC Symphony Orchestra with Bělohlávek; the Scottish Chamber Orchestra with Ticciati; the San Francisco Symphony Orchestra with Bohlin, the Royal Scottish National Orchestra with Denève and the Orchestre de l'opéra national de Lyon with de Billy. In recital she has appeared with Roger Vignoles in London at the Wigmore Hall and at Cadogan Hall for the BBC Proms, in Santiago di Compostella and at the Innsbruck, Cheltenham and Bath Mozart Festivals. She has also appeared at the Laeiszhalle in Hamburg; the Tonhalle in Zurich, at the Wigmore Hall and at the City of London Festival with Simon Lepper and she has performed Wolf's Italienisches Liederbuch at the Oxford Lieder Festival with Malcolm Martineau.
