Tenor Jenő Dékán was born in Budapest in 1984. He started his musical education in the music department of his primary school and, after completing high school, studied solo voice in the conservatory of the King Saint Stephen High School of Music under József Hormai, graduating in 2006 with a diploma in music.
In 2010, he earned a degree from the Ferenc Liszt Academy of Music's Teacher Training Institute qualifying as a teacher of solo voice and as a vocal and chamber performer. His teacher was Zsuzsa Forrai.
In 2012, after studying under Prof. Éva Marton, he earned his master's degree in classical and operatic voice.
His principal roles include Don Ottavio (Don Giovanni), Tamino and Monostatos (Die Zauberflöte), Jaquino (Fidelio), Max and Kilian (Der Freischütz), Nemorino (L'elisir d'amore), Dr. Caius (Falstaff), Tavannes and Cossé (Les Huguenots), Ismaele (Nabucco), Loge and Froh (Das Rheingold), Kunz Vogelgesang (Die Meistersinger von Nürnberg), László V (Hunyadi László), Spoletta (Tosca), Rodolfo and Parpignol (La bohème), Edmondo (Manon Lescaut), Lensky and Triquet (Eugene Onegin), Baron Ebelasztin (Háry János), the title role of John the Valiant and Marci (in Máté Bella's Spring Awakening).
