Dániel Dinyés studied music composition at the Béla Bartók High School of Music under István Fekete Győr and earned his degree in the subject from the Ferenc Liszt Academy of Music in 2006 after studying with László Vidovszky. His chamber work Septet was premiered at New York's Julliard School in 2004 as part of an exchange programme, receiving its Hungarian premiere later that same year as part of the Budapest Autumn Festival. He won the Péter Robitsek Commemorative Award in 1997, the MOL Music Scholarship in 1998 and the Zoltán Kodály Music Scholarship in 2007. At the Gorizia International Choral Competition in 2004, his piece won first prize in the contemporary sacred music for double choir category. He and Marcel Dargay first started playing their joint concerts of contemporary music for two pianos together in 2000, and his piece Vita was featured at the Focus! 2007: The Magyar Legacy (Hungarian music after Bartók) concert series in New York. He has been commissioned to write several pieces for Budapest's spring and autumn festivals, as well as to craft theatrical incidental music for puppetry director Kata Csató's production of Georg Büchner's drama Leonce and Lena (in 2007) and for György Vidovszky's production of Ödön von Horváth's drama Youth Without God (in 2008). He has collaborated on many opera productions as a coach and répétiteur, including Die Zauberflöte, Le nozze di Figaro and L'elisir d'amore (summer performances in Gödöllő, 1995-1998), La fanciulla del West (Miskolc International Opera Festival), Tom Johnson's The Four-Note Opera (Millenáris Park, Szeged Open-Air Festival, Sziget Festival, 2004), László Sáry's Negros (Bárka Theatre, 2004) and Hans Pfitzner's Palestrina (2008). He has served as music director for many dramatic productions at the National Theatre and the Thalia Theatre, as a répétiteur at the Hungarian State Opera's opera studio, and as a lecturer at the University of Theatre and Film Arts and, since 2006, the Ferenc Liszt Academy of Music. Since 2007, he has also taught music theory, history and composition at the Tóth Aladár Music School in Budapest's District 6.
