Ivett Gyöngyösi was seven years old when she started to study piano under Erzsébet Antalovszky in her home town of Vásárosnamény. Four years later she was admitted into the Ferenc Liszt Academy of Music's programme for exceptionally talented young students, where her teacher was Attila Némethy. In 2011, she was admitted into the piano course, where she continues to pursue her education under the guidance of Kálmán Dráfi, while also studying chamber music with János Devich. She is the winner of countless piano competitions both in Hungary and internationally, and counts among her victories two grand prizes at Budapest's International Chopin Piano Competition (2006 and 2008), one first prize at the Lions International Piano Competition (2010). She was also named a Steinway & Sons 'Young Steinway Artist' in Hamburg. In 2012, she received the Junior Príma Award, and in 2014 she won the Virtuosos television talent search programme. She made her debut in the Grand Hall of the Liszt Academy at age 15, and has also performed in Vienna's Musikverein and at Müpa Budapest. She has collaborated with such artists as Jenő Jandó, Tamás Vásáry and Zoltán Kocsis.
