Born in the Transcarpathia region of Ukraine in 1985, Gergely Ujvári graduated from the University of Nyíregyháza as a teacher of German and drawing while pursuing his vocal studies privately. The young tenor started his career with the Hungarian State Opera as member of the chorus in 2012 and later moved on to minor roles before singing the title role in John the Valiant in 2014. Since then, he has appeared in the roles of Fadinard (Il cappello di paglia di Firenze), Cecco (Il mondo della luna), Cornwall (Lear) and Basilio (Le nozze di Figaro), among others.
