In Brief
In 1952, an entire nation celebrated the 60th birthday of Mátyás Rákosi. Seventy-five years later, audiences can relive the bizarre pinnacle of the series of events as well as the personality cult of Hungarian communism – the grand gala held at the Opera House – through a kind of historical time travel, in which, alongside Rákosi, other key figures of the era appear, and ideology-driven musical numbers of the programme are reconstructed.
