As the first premiere in 2015, the Hungarian State Opera produces The Rake’s Progress by Igor Stravinsky. So far it has only been featured in the repertoire of the Opera only once – it was put on stage 35 years ago. In the production by director Ferenc Anger two international guest artists make their Hungarian debut on 18 January 2015.

One important feature of the ball revived in 2014 is that the greatest figures of the world of opera and ballet are invited to this exclusive event. The appearance of Domingo is extraordinary as it is the first time this significant personality of the classical music scene of the 20th and 21st centuries sings on the stage of the Opera House.

Audiences can celebrate Erika Miklósa at the Erkel Theatre on 21 January, 2016. For her 25th anniversary on stage, one of the most popular Hungarian opera singers has invited international friends and colleagues to Budapest. Beside Daniela Pini and Leonardo Ferrando, Gergely Boncsér, Attila Dolhai and István Horváth join her on stage. The concert features coloratura arias as well as excerpts from musicals and operettas.
