On 21 March 2024, the now 142-year-old Hungarian Royal/State Opera launched the evening charitable sale of its so-called Royal Box.

The most beautiful, bestpositioned, and today the largest box of the Ybl Palace offers the best possible view of performances for ten guests. It includes a foyer suitable for private catering and can be connected to the adjacent six-person Guards’ Box (Box No. 11 on the right). Guests of the Royal Box arrive at the protocol entrance on Dalszínház Street, enter the building through the Royal Entrance, proceed up the Royal Staircase to the Red Parlor, and then to the box itself. Dedicated staff and catering services are provided for them. The ticket allotment for the Royal Box can only be purchased as a whole for a given evening at a fixed price. At the end of the calendar year, the revenue from Royal Box sales is allocated to family and children’s programmes.
