Born in Kolozsvár (Cluj-Napoca), Enikő Pataki studied violin at the city's music school before earning a degree in voice from the Gheorghe Dima Academy of Music there under the guidance of Ágnes Kriza. Since 1990, she has been a member of the Kolozsvár Hungarian Opera, where she has had the opportunity to demonstrate her abilities across a wide variety of genres and sing her principal operatic roles, which consist of Musetta (La bohème), Frasquita (Carmen), Echo (Ariadne auf Naxos), the First Enchantress (Dido and Aeneas), First Boy (Die Zauberflöte), Serpetta (La finta giardiniera), Mademoiselle Silberklang (Der Schauspieldirektor), Marcellina (Fidelio), Nanetta (Falstaff), Violain (in László Lajtha's The Blue Hat), Althea (in János Kőmíves's Le muet au couvent), Girhes (in Miklós Csemiczky's The Bremen Town Musicians) and the title role of Erkel's Sarolta. She has also sung famous operetta roles like Countess Stasi (The Gypsy Princess), Lisa (Countess Maritza), Mariette (Die Bajadere), Mabel Gibson (The Circus Princess), Mary (Lieutenant Mary), Clarisse (Baroness Lili), Sarah (Sybill) and Rolla (Miska the Magnate). She has also performed in other forms of musical drama, including rock operas.
