Vasile Şerban, baritone, born in Bucharest, studied at the Bucharest Music University with Eleonora Enchescu and made his operatic debut in 2009 as Marcello in La Bohème at the Burgas Theater in Bulgaria. In 2013/14 he made his Metropolitan Opera debut as Ford in Verdi's Falstaff. He has made guest appearances at the De Nationale Opera Amsterdam, the National Opera Bucharest, the Opera di Roma, the Maggio Musicale Fiorentino, the Opera House Cairo, the Wuhan Theater in China and has worked with conductors such as Daniele Gatti, James Levine and Yannick Nézet -Séguin, Christian Badea, Tiberiu Soare together.

Serban Vasile recently made his debut as Valdeburgo in Bellini's La straniera at the Maggio Musicale Fiorentino conducted by Fabio Luisi. In the past seasons guest engagements took him to the Ravenna Festival as Amonasro (Aida), to the Opéra Nice as Mathieu (Andrea Chénier) and as Prinz Jeletzki (Queen of Spades), the State Opera Stuttgart as Marquis de Posa (Don Carlo) and Sharpless (Madama Butterfly), the Teatro Comunale Bologna (Ibn-Hakia in Tchaikovsky’s Iolanta), the Luglio Musicale Trapanese Festival (title part in Verdi’s Macbeth) and the Tokyo Spring Festival.
